El Paso Probate Attorney
Probate is the process of dividing a person’s estate after he or she has died. Probate takes place with supervision by the court. At the culmination of the process, the estate’s property and assets will be transferred according to the decedent’s wishes.
At the law office of Claudio Flores, Jr., P.C., Attorney at Law, I strive to provide effective, efficient and seamless representation to executors, administrators and personal representatives throughout the probate process. Since 1996, I have helped clients with the probate process.
My Texas Probate Law Practice
As an El Paso probate law attorney, I have represented executors, administrators and personal representatives for more than 20 years. I help them meet all of their obligations that are involved in the probate process. Some of these obligations include:
- Notifying heirs and beneficiaries
- Preparing and filing accounting of estate assets
- Gathering estate assets
- Paying estate debts
- Paying estate taxes (if applicable)
- Distributing property in accordance with the terms of the will
Probate With a Will
If the decedent had a will, someone was named as executor of the will. The executor serves as personal representative of the estate. He or she is responsible for handling the final affairs of the estate during probate.
Probate Without a Will
If the decedent did not have a will, you may need to ask the probate court for a dependent administration. As a dependent administrator, you must petition the probate court to approve any of the tasks you undertake during the probate process, including the above-mentioned tasks.
